The range goes from day-to-day automation for different teams like legal or customer service, to real high tech, high level stuff like Agent Based Modelling or bitcoin tracing softwares. We just want to harness our tech and crypto powers to improve things in as many ways as we can.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-one-project-that-you-ve-really-been-excited-about\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_one_project_that_youve_really_been_excited_about\"><\/span>What is one project that you\u2019ve really been excited about?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s actually the project that I\u2019m working on right now!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re working on sustainable mining for bitcoin. After Tesla stopped accepting Bitcoin because of its energy consumption, <a href=\"https:\/\/zebpay.com\/blog\/is-bitcoin-sustainable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the whole focus has been on its sustainability.<\/a> We just have so much solar energy around us, so we have been trying to harness all that energy to mine bitcoin using solar power. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project&#8217;s API helps differentiate between regular Bitcoin and sustainably mined Bitcoin, which we\u2019re calling \u201cgreen\u201d Bitcoin. We\u2019re also doing this specifically to help rural Indian women. It won&#8217;t be just an environmental and sustainable initiative, but also something to help marginalised communities benefit through the powers of crypto and introduce them to this world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-are-these-projects-decided-is-it-you-and-the-team-just-brainstorming-and-thinking-okay-this-is-a-great-idea-let-s-build-on-it-what-do-those-processes-look-like\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_are_these_projects_decided_Is_it_you_and_the_team_just_brainstorming_and_thinking_%E2%80%9Cokay_this_is_a_great_idea_lets_build_on_it%E2%80%9D_What_do_those_processes_look_like\"><\/span>How are these projects decided? What do those processes look like?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The great thing about ZebPay is that we&#8217;re super open to new ideas, innovative ideas, whether or not it may work out.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, in the R&amp;D team, we\u2019re open to anyone across the company pitching their ideas and then through a voting system, we select projects and work on it for a couple of weeks just to see if it takes form, if it has anything there. Otherwise we even let it go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes things work out and sometimes they don\u2019t. That\u2019s okay too. Through this experimentation, we\u2019re hoping to create the next best thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-was-your-journey-that-led-to-our-r-d-team\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_was_your_journey_that_led_to_our_R_D_team\"><\/span>What was your journey that led to our R&amp;D team?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I can say its fate right now, because I was always a finance person through and through. Only later did I start getting into data science, completing my graduate education in the field. Then when the opportunity of <a href=\"https:\/\/zebpay.com\/in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ZebPay<\/a> came up, I joined as an intern initially. I remember thinking, \u201cI have to do this, I want to do this.\u201d because it allowed me to blend data science in the field of decentralised finance which I truly believe is the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After my internship, I was offered a full time role and I remember thinking, &#8220;This is what I want to be doing.&#8221; I genuinely love and enjoy the work and the massive potential in the blockchain space is undeniable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-you-re-a-fairly-central-member-of-zebpay-s-women-dao-can-you-tell-us-a-little-bit-about-that-experience\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Youre_a_fairly_central_member_of_ZebPays_women_DAO_Can_you_tell_us_a_little_bit_about_that_experience\"><\/span>You&#8217;re a fairly central member of ZebPay\u2019s women DAO. Can you tell us a little bit about that experience?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To give a brief overview of what a DAO is, a DAO is a decentralised autonomous organization where we remove the whole system of hierarchy. Every member has a voice and a voting right and all decisions are made based on what everyone votes for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just this year, on Women&#8217;s Day, we <a href=\"https:\/\/zebpay.com\/blog\/the-worlds-first-women-only-dao\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">launched the women\u2019s DAO to give a voice to the underrepresented gender in crypto<\/a>. Right now, the DAO is only open to female employees of ZebPay but we\u2019re in a very heavy transition phase. We want to expand the DAO beyond just our employees, to all female customers at ZebPay. We have received so much interest and appreciation from people who are <a href=\"https:\/\/blockworks.co\/singaporean-zebpay-creates-first-female-led-dao\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">interested in crypto from across the world<\/a>, which just again shows that stuff like this is going to pick up and eventually going to take over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The transition phase that I mentioned involves a lot of other components as well, one of which is transitioning from the testnet to the main net. We\u2019re researching on the most efficient way to do that as well, whether it\u2019s creating our own native token or using an existing token like BAT.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We don&#8217;t want to get complacent, we want to keep taking that initiative and effort from our side to bridge the gap by giving more power to women and giving more power to the DAO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What does your typical day at ZebPay look like?
