Latest Games: The SYN City

The gaming industry has been revolutionised with the rise of NFTs as they went from “Pay-to-play” to “Play-to-earn”. Games like Axie Infinity, Decentraland have been growing in popularity as players rush to earn a quick buck.

SYN City is a new blockchain based game created by former Head of Business at Tron, Roy Liu. The creators are ex-Ubisoft, Roblox, EA and Disney team members. It is the first mafia-themed and syndicate-based game. The mafia metaverse has its own governance token and system called Mafia-as-a-DAO (MaaD).

SYN City is an action packed game where players can trade, expand and manage members of the mob. Players must challenge other syndicates to earn respect and money in the battle grounds. Players are incentivized to form syndicates and rise to the top to earn the native token SYN. Through this system, players earn a chance to attend events, competitions and global tournaments.

The game is very fresh as it just launched yesterday on 9th December via the Binance Initial Game Offering (IGO). They also released a number of limited-edition NFTs and in-game assets that were specially designed for Binance IGO. The collectibles were released through auctions, fixed-price sales, mystery boxes, and more.

The launch went very successfully as $3.5 million worth of volume was traded within 30 minutes. There is already a community of 200,000 excited gamers. Syn City is currently ranked #1 on the Binance NFT platform.

As a result of this, IGO is on the rise as a new form of crowdfunding. Users were able to purchase tokens ahead of the game launch, giving creators the necessary funds. The gaming industry is growing exponentially with the latest “play-to-earn” model.
